How Grow A Garden mutation stacking actually works

The Grow A Garden mutation calculator above implements the exact two-bucket math the game runs internally. Environmental mutations (Wet, Chilled, Chocolate, Honey Glazed, Pollinated, Sandy, Bloodlit, Moonlit, Burnt, Cooked, Verdant, Heavenly, Choc, Oil, Bloom, Plasma) add together as env = 1 + Σ (mult − 1). Rare mutations (Gold, Rainbow, Shocked, Celestial, Disco, Voidtouched, Dawnbound, Frozen) multiply on top as rare = Π mult. The final mutation multiplier is env × rare.

The "rare overrides rare" rule

Frozen overrides Wet + Chilled. Cooked overrides Burnt + Sandy. Disco requires Rainbow as a base — Gold gets replaced when Rainbow rolls, then Disco multiplies on Rainbow during a Disco Night event. Voidtouched (limited event) overrides Celestial.

Highest possible mutation multiplier

The current ceiling on a single specimen is approximately ×6.4 million, achieved by stacking Rainbow + Disco + Shocked + Celestial + Honey Glazed + Pollinated + Frozen + Bloodlit + Verdant during overlapping Disco Night + Thunderstorm + Blood Moon event windows. See our complete mutations guide for the full setup walkthrough.

Mutation FAQ

Which mutations stack in Grow A Garden?

Environmental mutations (Wet, Chocolate, Honey, Pollinated, etc.) stack additively as (1 + Σ multipliers - count). Rare mutations (Gold, Rainbow, Shocked, Celestial, Disco) multiply on top of that environmental sum.

What's the best mutation stack?

Rainbow + Disco + Shocked + Frozen + Honey Glazed + Pollinated. Disco requires Rainbow as a prerequisite; Frozen overrides Wet + Chilled; the rest layer freely.

Can mutations be removed?

Mutations are locked once a crop is fully grown. Harvest a young crop early to reroll, or accept the current stack.
